Breughel Avond

Stadsherberg de Mol has become renowned for its Breughel Evenings. These take place in one of the halls of the Stadsherberg. As you enter, the music of the Troubadours greets you.

As a welcome aperitif, you will be offered a mug of Hypocras or Mead. The candlelight flickers. The attendants in medieval garb pour the frothy beer from large jugs. Troubadours sing their songs. A lavish meal is served, culminating in the Gebraet (Braet). You’ll feel transported back to the time of Breughel.

The heartwarming welcome, the aperitif, the extensive meal, free drinks, a calligraphed menu, and a small gift for the women at the end of the evening make the Breughel Evening an unforgettable celebration for you and your guests.

A Private Breughel Evening can be organized for groups of 30 to 350 people on any day of your choosing. We are happy to discuss the details with you.

The cost for a four-hour Private Breughel Evening depends on the size of your group and is:
For 30 people (including 1 Troubadour) €92 per person
For 60 people (including 2 Troubadours) €89.50 per person
For 90 people (including 3 Troubadours) €87 per person
If your group size differs from the above, we charge €71.50 for food and drinks for each additional guest and additional entertainment for each missing guest.

You can also book additional entertainment such as a Witch, a Jester, a Magician, or a Pen Artist.

At the Private Breughel Night,
the tables are decorated with Fruit and a variety of Nuts.

Successively, we will serve you the following dishes:

  • Traditional Medieval Bread with Herbal sauce.
  • Plate with a variety of Sausages
  • Mushroom soup
  • Sea mussels
  • A variety of Meat: Chicken, Leg of Rabbit, Meat-Stew, and roasted Ham served with
    Medieval Potatoes, Fresh Salad and Traditional Medieval Bread
  • Syllabub
  • Coffee or Tea with a sweet cinnamon Stick

The beverage arrangement consists of an Aperitif the spicy Herbal wine, Hypocras, or the sweet Honey wine, Mede, and until the Coffee and Tea unlimited Beer on Draught, Wines, Juices and Soft drinks.

Also included are a calligraphed Menu-Card and a token of attention for the Ladies at the end of the evening.

It is possible to hire a Medieval Costume, consisting of a multicoloured Smock and a matching velvet Beret for only € 5,- per person.
