Even in the Middle Ages, “Verbinden in den Echt” (Connecting in Marriage) was a true event. No time or effort was spared to make this day a grand celebration. A tradition that is still honored in the 21st century.
During your Burgundian Wedding at Stadsherberg de Mol, you and your guests will feel transported back to the Middle Ages.
Because Stadsherberg de Mol has been designated as an official wedding venue by the municipality of Delft, it is also possible to have your wedding performed in a medieval setting. Our Grote Sael (Great Hall), with its large fireplace as a backdrop, is ideal for a unique ceremony.
The charming Tavern offers the opportunity for a reception. While the chickens roam freely, the servants, dressed in medieval attire, pour the spirits from earthenware jugs.
Afterwards, your party will be invited into one of the halls, where you will be seated at oak tables laid with fruit and abundant nuts. Candlelight flickers, the fire crackles, while you and your guests enjoy a lavish, Burgundian wedding feast.
You in bridal attire, your guests in colorful vests and matching velvet bonnets, a beautifully calligraphed invitation and menu, and entertainment provided by various artists can make your wedding celebration an unforgettable event for you and your guests.

Welcoming and Receptions
Depending on your wishes and budget, Stadsherberg de Mol offers you the following possibilities:
Welcoming: (duration of 1 hour)
- One coffee or tea with gingerbread per person: €3.70
- Two coffee or tea sessions with warm apple roll per person: €7.75
- Two coffee or tea sessions with wedding cake (from pp. €9.90)
- Champagnoise with Petit Glacé (from pp. €7.00)
- Champagnoise with wedding cake (from pp. €9.90)
- Wedding cake cutting costs (pp. €2.00)
- Welcome drink: spicy Hypocras herbal wine or sweet Mead (from pp. €3.50)
Reception: (duration of 2 hours)
- Snacks and mixed nuts per person €2.00
- Cheese and/or sausage platter per person €2.75
- Assortment of cold and hot snacks (5 per person €7.00)
- Draft beer, red, white, and rosé wine, juices, and soft drinks €2.60
In addition we can provide:
- Calligraphed Invitations, layout costs €25 plus €1.50 per card
- Calligraphed Menus, layout costs €10 plus €1.50 per card
- A Bonte Vest and matching Velvet Hat (each €5)
- Traditional Dutch Folk Games: Beugelen (bowling), various table games such as the Hammer Game,
Pinbollen (pinball), Toptafel (top table), and the Secret of the Blacksmith - Historic Walking and Scavenger Hunts through Delft’s old city center
- Transportation by ‘Horse Tram’, ‘Jan Plezier’ (Jan Plezier), or a Canal Cruise through Delft’s canals
